Swimming pool

Swimming is a gift of life. Knowing how to swim provides safety in the water by exercising the body without any injuries. Contact with water is a unique psychosomatic experience for both children and adults.

The young students will live this experience accompanied by the school teachers and the experienced staff of the swimming pool.

Horse riding

In cooperation with the Equestrian Club of Katerini, our children come in contact with nature and horses and ride with Pyrrellos and Aphrodite.When children take riding lessons, they are taught, among other things, the basic principles of horse care, as well as how to keep the horse clean and healthy, thus contributing to the cultivation of a sense of responsibility. Children’s contact with horses helps to further develop characteristics such as altruism, respect, discipline and patience, while at the same time helping them to become compassionate and kind.

Riding is a fun exercise for children which, among other things, contributes to the proper and isometric development of the body. When children are riding, they use various muscle groups to maintain their balance while the horse is moving.

Self-defence

Children who participate in self-defence activities have the opportunity to take part in a comprehensive programme of learning the basic techniques of self-defence, combined with the improvement of their physical condition, which is appropriate to their age, as well as their physical and mental abilities.

The practice aims to improve their self-control and self-esteem, build self-confidence, respect and discipline. Children are trained how to commit to a goal and gain patience, perseverance and stamina. They are taught how to appreciate and be proud of their achievements, realizing that no goal is impossible.

Baby yoga

Η γιόγκα για τα παιδιά λειτουργεί ως ένα πολύ σημαντικό εργαλείο διδασκαλίας κι ενίσχυσης του εαυτού, ελευθερίας της έκφρασης και ικανότητας συλλογικής λειτουργίας και αυτορρύθμισης. Η γιόγκα διεγείρει στα παιδιά τον βαθμό συγκέντρωσης σωματικά και διανοητικά. Πέρα από μια διασκεδαστική δραστηριότητα, τα βοηθά, παράλληλα, να παραμείνουν σωματικά και νοητικά ενεργοποιημένα, συμβάλλοντας στη βελτίωση των ικανοτήτων προσοχής και συντονισμού και την ανάπτυξη θετικών κινήτρων για επίδοση και συνεργασία.

Η γιόγκα βελτιώνει τη δύναμη και αυξάνει την αυτοεκτίμηση και την αυτοπεποίθηση των παιδιών. Η γιόγκα διδάσκει στα παιδιά την τέχνη του διαλογισμού μέσω της αναπνοής, που είναι η δύναμη της ζωής. Στη γιόγκα δεν υπάρχουν σωστές ή λανθασμένες κινήσεις. Τα παιδιά μπορούν να εξασκηθούν δημιουργώντας παραλλαγές προσαρμοσμένες στις ικανότητες του σώματός τους, έτσι ώστε κάθε παιδί να αισθάνεται άνετα, ενώ εξερευνά μια κίνηση.

Music and movement

Music and play are two concepts that are perfectly linked. For children, music is one of the most basic means of communication and expression, and constant involvement with it, from a very early age, lays important foundations for their emotional, cognitive and intellectual development, the formation of their auditory perception, their creative expression and the cultivation of their self-discipline and sociability.

Music and movement education, in particular, is an experiential educational method that aims to coordinate and transmit music and movement to children through play. Children do not only listen to sounds, but learn to sing, to produce the same sounds with musical instruments, to accompany music with movements and body expressions, and all this in an improvisational context of their own, which they gradually develop. It includes, among other things, singing, active listening, music-movement games, rhythm instruments, musical concepts and sound stories

Ballet

Ballet is a way of expression, relaxation and physical exercise. It is an art form that nurtures mentally and physically children who take and want to take ballet classes. The relationship between movement and classical music is something very important, because it inspires and practices rhythm and musicality in children. It is done in groups, so children learn from an early age to discipline themselves, to concentrate, to have harmonised and controlled movements and to work in groups.
