Indoor spaces
The interiors of the Nelyland Model Nursery School are fully air-conditioned and equipped with modern audiovisual and multisensory materials, inspired by fairy tales, children’s images and music so that children enter a familiar and organized environment. All the spaces are airy with plenty of natural light diffusing everywhere, cheerful colors and educational corners.
Outdoor spaces
To a child, the world has no limits, especially when playing. The large courtyard of the Nelyland Model Nursery School – Kindergarten, with its many different educational, rhythmic and kinetic games, is an ideal and unique space specially designed for our children. In this space, children can run, jump, discover their physical abilities, acquire spatial orientation and control of their bodies and enjoy endless hours of play with their friends in complete safety. All these are vital elements for their smooth physical, emotional and social development.
Nelyfarm - Our farm
The need for contact with nature is a priority of our school. That is why, alongside education and play in the classroom and the playground, we have created a wonderful farm, a truly green oasis a few kilometers away from the school. This is our privately owned “Nelyfarm” farm which allows children to experience the joy of playing and being in touch with the natural environment.
The educators take regular visits and excursions to the farm with the children and implement a special pedagogical program, integrated into the respective Experiential Communicative Learning (ECL) work plans of each class, in order to familiarize the children with nature and at the same time to teach basic elements of Reason and Aristotelian Logic in a playful way.
Moreover, children themselves, through a variety of environmental activities such as being occupied with the farm, the vegetable garden and the animals learn about the life cycle of plants, insects and their importance in the chain of life.
In this way, they get in touch with the Earth discovering, exploring and caring for it, while planting fruits and vegetables which they use in their cooking and in the stone-built wood-fire oven, experimenting and creating their own structures and experiments using sand, mud, clay, stones, wood and nut leaves. Joy, freedom, safety and contact with nature are the principles with which children are shielded for a more beautiful future.
Transportation/ Our school bus
Our privately owned school bus, with an experienced and competent driver and responsible caregivers, reflects the Nelyland Model Nursery School’s philosophy of caring for the children so that parents can be assured that their children are safe from the beginning to the end of each school day.
Transportation is provided and done with utmost safety with seat belts being strictly mandatory for all children, special attention to pick-up and drop-off and consistency in the schedule of the routes.
